I saw an advertisement for the ikea Dutch Oven.... I really don't want to spent LeCruset kind of money on this, as I will only use it a few times a year. (I especailly want to try the bread recipe and don't have anything suitable) I'm looking at the many alternatives out there. Here are the ikea specs... Its $49.99. Key features
Just wanted to add that whenever I'm cooking something that requires a higher bath temp for a short time (like vegetables) I'll usually go for a stock pot over the cambro since it allows me to easily preheat the water on the stove instead of heating it up with the circulator. Saves a bit of wear and tear on the equipment (and time).

Hearing “pancakes” may trigger visions of syrup-dripping stacks for breakfast, but savory pancakes are just as good, if not better—and you find them all around the world. Pancakes and crêpes are truly a universal symbol of deliciousness: Just about every culture has its own take on a flatbread made with batter that’s been griddled until warm and crisp-edged.

FOR PANCAKES: Preheat a griddle or frying pan and spray with cooking spray or brush with butter. Use 1/3 – ½ c scoops and cook until small bubbles form across each pancake. Add mini chocolate chips (my boys’ favorite style!) or blueberries before flipping over. Cook until golden brown. Serve warm with butter and syrup.

Novice brewers generally learn how to avoid making beer that tastes like old, dirty socks. In the University of California–Davis brewing science program, students are taught to guard against contamination by Brettanomyces, or Brett for short, a wild yeast often found in the air that’s nearly impossible to get rid of once it invades your equipment, and that makes your beer taste goaty ...

Consuming even more alcohol after a night of poor decision-making may sound like the absolute worst idea ever, but hair of the dog (the act of drinking more booze to reduce the effects of a hangover) has been a proven remedy for many late-night partygoers.. While we’re not really interested in putting this theory to the test, we’re happy to recommend some liquor-inspired pancake recipes ...
When you get pastrami from a good deli, it's not steamed, it's braised on a steam line. The whole brisket is sitting 1/2 in water in a steam table - when pastrami is ordered, a guy spears it with a carving fork and puts it on a slicer and cuts slices, then back it goes into the pan.

In 4 days in Stockholm, I rode a bus or T a total of 4 times. We stayed right by Central Station which made walking north or south quite easy. Best overall meal was lunch at Backfickan. There were Mongolian bbq lunch buffets by the hotel (Scandic Continental) that I would have like to have tried but lunch was seldom a major meal.
Transfer to a plate and repeat with the remaining batter, adding the rest of the butter to the pan to cook (you should have 6 small pancakes). 6 Stack all of the pancakes on a plate. Top with the whipped cream, sprinkle with more jimmies, light a candle, and sing “Happy Birthday”!

I remember the place well when I was growing up and going up to the catskills. Last year we happened to pass by, it looks so delapidated now, although my wife didn't want to go in, I talked her into it, (we weren't even sure it was still open for business)As stated in a previous post the bathrooms looked pretty dirty, but more crumbled than anything.

Hi-I'm getting ready to make my usual Passover brisket, but was thinking of doing a wine/thyme marinade first. I've never done this. Usually I sprinkle paprika, black pepper, and garlic powder liberally on the meat, brown at high temp for awhile, turning once and sprinkling more of the same, then lower the temp, add vegetables, water, etc, and roast for hours.

If you're willing to pay for overseas shipping, try Amazon.fr. And of course, you can also try eBay.

As for the people who spend too much money buying huge quantities of things they didn't intend to – I have a sneaky suspicion that this echoes into the rest of their lives as well, but it is most evident at Costco since the purchase usually come directly out of a debit account. For the spice rub: 1 Place all of the ingredients in a small bowl and mix to combine; set aside. For the tenderloins: 1 Trim the pork of any silver skin and pat it dry with paper towels. Using your hands, rub the tenderloins all over with the oil, sprinkle them with all of the spice mixture, and rub until evenly coated.

A roasted boneless leg of lamb makes an impressive centerpiece for your table, but this recipe is easy enough to pull off any time. A classic gremolata perfumes the lamb; the mixture of garlic, lemon, and parsley holds its own against the strong flavor of the meat.
I'm a minimalist. I put a tsp of rosemary in my spice grinder with a tsp of sea salt and half a tsp of pepper corns, grind it to a powder, and use that as a rub for roast pork loin. Rub it in well, let rest half an hour, brush with olive oil, roast til done but not overdone - pork should be juicy, imo.
